Business Development Manager

A direct hire opportunity is available for an experienced Business Development Manager, also known as a Commercial Banking Relationship Manager, with strong expertise in Commercial and Industrial lending. This Los Angeles-based role is ideal for a relationship-driven banking professional who can develop new commercial client relationships, grow an existing portfolio, and deliver customized lending and treasury solutions to business clients.

The successful candidate will bring a strong local network, sound credit judgment, and a track record of sourcing, structuring, and closing C&I lending opportunities.

• Develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of commercial banking relationships across the Los Angeles market.
• Generate new business through prospecting, referrals, networking, community involvement, and centers of influence.
• Structure and originate C&I loans, lines of credit, and related commercial banking solutions.
• Analyze financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and borrower creditworthiness to support sound lending decisions.
• Partner with underwriting, credit, and internal banking teams to facilitate approvals, renewals, and ongoing portfolio management.
• Monitor portfolio performance, risk ratings, covenant compliance, client needs, and cross-selling opportunities.

• Salary range: $120,000 to $180,000 per year.

• Grow and manage a commercial banking portfolio with a focus on C&I lending relationships.
• Source, structure, and close new commercial lending opportunities.
• Analyze credit, cash flow, financial statements, collateral, and borrower risk.
• Build referral relationships with CPAs, attorneys, business brokers, and other centers of influence.
• 6 to 10 years of experience in commercial banking, business banking, C&I lending, or a closely related relationship management role.
• Demonstrated success developing new commercial banking relationships and meeting production goals.
• Experience managing commercial loan portfolios serving small business, lower middle-market, or middle-market clients.
• Strong understanding of credit analysis, cash flow lending, commercial financial statements, risk assessment, and loan structuring.
• Ability to identify client financing needs and recommend appropriate lending, deposit, and treasury solutions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, networking, and relationship-building skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.

• Established network within the Los Angeles business community.
• Current or previous title such as Commercial Banking Relationship Manager, Senior Commercial Relationship Manager, Commercial Banker, VP Commercial Banking, C&I Relationship Manager, C&I Lending Officer, Business Banking Relationship Manager, or Commercial Market Manager.
• Proven ability to bring an existing portfolio or strong pipeline of local commercial banking relationships.
• Experience working with complex commercial lending transactions and consultative business clients.
