Job Description & How to Apply Below

For nearly 30 years, Gnomon has been the global leader in visual effects, animation, and game design education. Our graduates help create the world’s biggest films, games, and immersive experiences. From major studios to cutting edge tech companies, Gnomon alumni are shaping the future of entertainment.

As part of Groupe EDH, one of Europe’s leading private education groups, Gnomon is entering its next phase of growth in North America. We are building a stronger, more scalable, and future focused organization, grounded in creative excellence and financial discipline.

This is where you come in.

The Role

We are looking for a hands on, business minded Financial Controller to lead and elevate the finance function for Gnomon in North America.

This is not a back office reporting role. This is a strategic finance leadership position at the heart of one of the most respected creative schools in the world.

You will report directly to the CEO of Gnomon with a functional reporting line to the Group CFO to ensure financial stability, operational rigor, and long term growth.

Your mandate is simple and ambitious:
Build a world class finance operation that supports creative excellence and sustainable profitability.

What You Will Own
1. Accounting & Consolidation
  • Ensure the production of accurate and reliable financial statements in US GAAP
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
  • Manage statutory accounts and compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Harmonize accounting processes with Groupe EDH standards
  • Lead relationships with external auditors, accountants, and insurers
  • Continuously improve systems, reporting quality, and financial transparency
  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with leadership
  • Produce clear monthly reporting, including variance analysis and actionable insights
  • Provide deep financial analysis to inform strategic decisions
  • Implement and refine budget tracking and performance dashboards
  • Support enrollment, revenue, and cost modeling initiatives

You will help leadership see around corners, not just look in the rearview mirror.

3. Treasury & Banking
  • Oversee cash flow forecasting and working capital management
  • Monitor financing needs in coordination with the Group CFO
  • Ensure treasury compliance and financial controls
  • Manage banking relationships and negotiate banking terms
  • Safeguard financial flows and internal financial security
4. Finance Systems & Transformation
  • Evaluate and implement finance systems and technologies
  • Modernize reporting infrastructure
  • Increase automation and reduce manual inefficiencies
  • Align North American finance tools with global Groupe EDH standards
5. Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Design and maintain strong internal control frameworks
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and financial standards
  • Document and enforce finance policies and procedures
  • Reduce risk while enabling growth
6. Tax Oversight
  • Monitor tax developments and ensure proactive compliance
  • Supervise tax filings and required declarations
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors and legal counsel
Who You Are
  • 7/10 years of experience in finance, ideally Big Four (or similar) and corporate experience in financial control (or similar function)
  • Strong skills in accounting, financial controlling, budgeting, and cash flow management
  • Experience managing monthly closings and delivering reporting
  • Diplomatic, capable of structuring, driving financial discipline and leading projects
  • Hands‑on, business‑oriented, and familiar with an operational environment
  • Excellent communication, able to work with non‑financial stakeholders
  • Autonomous, accountable, and comfortable with dual reporting lines
