Position: Unit Secretary/Monitor Tech - Emergency Room - Per Diem 12 Hour Night Shift (Union)

Unit Secretary/Monitor Technician

The Unit Secretary/Monitor Technician performs clerical, and communication functions on assigned nursing unit. S/he monitors patients for arrhythmias and alerts proper personnel as needed. She/he provides courteous reception on the nursing unit and coordinates activities for patient care.

Education
  • Minimum Education:

    High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • Completion of a EKG or Rhythm interpretation course
Experience & Knowledge
  • Minimum of one (1) year current experience as a Unit Secretary and Monitor Tech in an acute care preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Data entry computer skills.
License & Certification
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) card from the American Heart Association.
  • ED/Geropsych: AB 508 Certification (if no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
  • EKG course required. Successful candidate must pass rhythm recognition exam.
Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for this position is $28.01.
