EMT, Emergency Medical Technician, Emergency Services ​/ EMS

Overview

Job Summary:

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at Mission Community Hospital will work in our Emergency Department (ED)
from 11am-11pm and will be responsible for providing basic medical care and transportation to patients in a timely and efficient manner. This is a full-time, individual contributor role in our healthcare/medical department located in Panorama City, California.

• Respond to emergency calls and provide care to patients in need
• Assess the nature of each patient's injuries or illness and provide appropriate medical treatment
• Administer medication and assist with basic medical procedures
• Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals
• Safely transport patients to the hospital and provide continuous care during transit
• Maintain accurate and thorough records of patient care and any treatments given
• Keep medical equipment and supplies clean and stocked
• Attend trainings and meetings to maintain and improve knowledge and skills

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current EMT certification in the state of California
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of 1 year experience as an EMT, preferably in an emergency department setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in emergency situations
• Physical ability to lift and move patients and equipment
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must pass a background check and drug screening
