Respiratory Therapist Per Diem Varied

Position Summary

Demonstrates proficiency in the use/operation of respiratory equipment and provision of respiratory treatment to assigned age specific patient population (e.g. infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics) and participates in related continuing education. Provides care to assigned patients according to professional standards and established procedures, using good judgement and personal initiative.

• Completion of two (2) years AMA approved course in Respiratory Care or equivalent.

• Associate Degree in Respiratory Care

• Must possess excellent assessment skills to floor therapy and patients on mechanical ventilators.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

• Two (2) years experience in an acute care facility

• Current and valid RCP license from the Respiratory Care Board of California
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• American Heart Association BLS Card
• American Heart Association ACLS Card
• American Heart Association PALS Card
• Current Los Angeles County Fire Card (or must be obtained within 30 days of employment)
• Assault Response Competency (ARC) (or must be obtained within 30 days of employment)
