The RoleGlasgow City HSCP has a diverse population of approximately 588,470 people and employs around 5,300 WTE staff and approximately 560 independent contractors. Services managed include Health Visitors, District Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, Addiction, Learning Disability Services, Palliative Care, Local Adult and Older Mental Health Services.
The Rehabilitation Service delivers interventions that enable patients to maximise their health and independence through a coordinated approach.
- Single Point of entry to access multi‑disciplinary rehabilitation and enablement services.
- Service provision to address all levels of need, complexity and vulnerability.
- Shift in service delivery towards local community provision.

Shift Pattern – 4 days over 7
Key Responsibilities Clinical- Complete comprehensive assessments for patients with complex presentations using clinical and non‑clinical information to determine Physiotherapy needs.
- Independently plan, deliver and evaluate Physiotherapy interventions for patients with complex, multi‑factorial needs, incorporating risk assessment.
- Provide specialist interventions using advanced clinical reasoning and a wide range of treatment techniques; continuously monitor and modify treatment.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary goal‑setting and discharge planning; liaise with external agencies and balance caseload with coordination duties.
- Assess, prescribe and manage equipment needs; refer to specialist services and provide guidance on safe use and maintenance.
- Autonomously manage a professional caseload, adjusting workload and priorities to ensure timely intervention.
- Maintain professional and legal accountability in line with HCPC and organisational policies.
- Keep accurate, compliant patient records and statistical data, including digital systems.
- Advise patients and families on the impact of disability, lifestyle changes and environmental adaptations.
- Provide specialist advice and teaching to multidisciplinary colleagues, external agencies, patients and carers.
- Support day‑to‑day coordination and delivery of Physiotherapy services; undertake delegated managerial duties.
- Delegate caseloads and supervise Physiotherapists, support workers and students; contribute to supervision, e‑KSF, PDP and staff induction.
- Identify service gaps and pressures; provide accurate activity data and support development of monitoring frameworks.
- Lead clinical effectiveness activities such as audits, journal clubs, peer review and service improvement projects.
- Participate in induction of rotational staff, students and new team members.
- Assist in recruitment and selection processes to support appropriate staffing and retention.
- Ensure adherence to Health & Safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Contribute to Physiotherapy in‑service training and provide specialist input to support professional development.
- Deliver specialist teaching to multidisciplinary staff, patients, carers and external agencies; provide training for less experienced staff and students.
- Provide clinical training, supervision and assessment for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Degree/Diploma (or equivalent) in Physiotherapy
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Excellent communication skills
- Full current driving licence
