Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: IV Access, PET and CT scanning, ALARA adherence

Job Accountabilities:
· This position performs PET scans for oncology, cardiology, neurology, infection/inflammation, and research. The technologist will also be expected to perform diagnostic CT exams with and without contrast (on patients receiving a concurrent PET).
·
Duties include:
starting IVs, scanning patients, administering radiopharmaceuticals and CT contrast, ordering doses, minimal scheduling assistance, performing and documenting radiation safety tasks such as dose check in, administration, and waste.
· Patient mix is mainly outpatient, 4-6 patients per shift. Inpatients are done very rarely, usually for graft infections.
· Team consists of 3 other technologists, front desk, on-site physicians, cardiology nurses and EKG techs.
· Siemens Biograph 64 Scanner, NMIS software (will soon move to Nuc Trac).
Flu Vaccine:
· Full vaccination with the current season's flu vaccine is required during flu season.
o Required November 1st – May 30th.
· The facility accepts signed personal or medical exemptions.
·
Note:
Masks are required for individuals who choose exemption.
COVID-19 Vaccine:
· Vaccination is not required, but is strongly recommended.
