Job Description:
Sabio is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our growing HR team. In this role, you’ll partner with our HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance across multiple states and countries. We are looking for someone with strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate multi-state and international payroll complexities.
Experience with vendor management, audits, and process improvement is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a multi-state and global workforce, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all applicable laws.
- Transmit payroll data to external providers (e.g., Paychex), maintain payroll systems, and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries across regions.
- Review employee timecards, reconcile variances, and prepare payroll reconciliations, journal entries, and audit-ready reports in partnership with Finance.
- Develop strong expertise in payroll systems and HRIS platforms, producing reports and insights on demand.
- Administer employee benefits programs for a multi-state and global employee population, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans.
- Manage benefit enrollments, life event changes, and terminations, serving as the primary point of contact for employee and vendor inquiries.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment, employee communications, and system updates across regions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and global benefits regulations (including COBRA, ACA, HIPAA), maintaining accurate records and supporting audits
Qualifications:
- 3+ years' experience with full-cycle payroll processing and benefits administration (required).
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis in Business, Human Resources, Accounting or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Paychex processing and administration is strongly preferred.
- Is detail oriented, organized, able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and follow instructions, such as federal and state tax communications, income withholding orders, and benefit plan descriptions
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
