HR Specialist – Compensation & Data Management
Pay: $27 to $34 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the RoleWe are seeking an HR Specialist with a strong focus on compensation and data management to support our growing team in Los Angeles. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, building structure around pay practices, and partnering with HR and business leaders to ensure fair, consistent, and competitive compensation.
You will be a key member of the HR team, owning day-to-day compensation data processes, reporting, and analysis while supporting broader HR operations.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and update employee compensation data within HRIS and related systems with a high level of accuracy
- Support compensation cycles (merit, promotions, adjustments, bonuses) through data preparation, audits, and reporting
- Analyze compensation data to identify trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement
- Assist in evaluating roles, job levels, and salary ranges using internal frameworks and market data
- Prepare regular and ad hoc HR and compensation reports for HR and business leaders
- Partner with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and Finance to ensure compensation decisions align with internal guidelines
- Support compliance with internal policies and applicable pay-related regulations
- Help document and improve HR processes related to compensation, data integrity, and reporting
- Maintain confidential information and data security at all times
- Experience in an HR, Compensation, or HR Operations role with a strong data focus
- Hands-on experience working with HRIS and/or payroll systems (e.g., Workday, UKG, SAP Success Factors, ADP, or similar)
- Strong Excel skills (v-lookups, pivot tables, basic formulas) and comfort working with large data sets
- Solid understanding of core HR and compensation concepts (base pay, bonuses, job titles/levels, pay structures)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset when working with internal stakeholders
- Experience supporting annual compensation or performance cycles
- Reviewing and revising job descriptions
- Background in compensation analysis or HR analytics
- Experience working in a hybrid corporate environment
- Familiarity with compensation survey data or market pricing tools
- Hybrid role based in Los Angeles, CA
- Candidates must be able to commute to the Los Angeles office
