Payroll Coordinator
Pay Rate: $32 $ 36/hour
Duration: 3-month W2 assignment to start (possible extension)
Schedule: Monday Friday | 8:30 AM 5:00 PM

A prestigious private university's School of Architecture is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator to support faculty payroll and HR operations. This role is ideal for someone experienced in Workday transactions, faculty contracts, and high-volume workforce administration within an academic environment.
Position Overview
The Payroll Coordinator will manage Workday transactions, faculty employment records, and compensation changes while ensuring compliance with university HR and payroll policies. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced academic setting. Key Responsibilities
Workday Transactions & HR Administration
- Manage and distribute part-time faculty contracts
- Edit and maintain faculty positions in Workday
- Update academic appointments and employment records
- Enter furloughs and employment status changes
- Process compensation changes, overload pay, bonuses, and summer compensation
- Enter Period Activity Pay (PAP) transactions
- Process promotions, administrative appointments, and employee transfers
- Assist with student worker position setup and updates
- Submit timesheets on behalf of employees as needed
- Provide guidance to departments regarding Workday transactions
- Ensure compliance with HR and payroll policies
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Monitor deadlines and ensure timely processing of transactions
- Respond to inquiries from faculty, staff, and departments
- Support special projects and additional administrative tasks
- 2+ years of administrative, HR, payroll, or workforce operations experience
- 2+ years of Workday experience
- Experience handling faculty contracts
- Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing high-volume transactional workloads
- Experience working in higher education or academic environments
