About the Team

Our Global Mobility team enables the movement of exceptional talent across borders in support of OpenAI’s mission to ensure that artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity. We partner closely with Recruiting, Legal, HR, and trusted external vendors to deliver a seamless, compliant, and principled immigration experience for candidates and employees.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Global Mobility Partner to help run and scale OpenAI’s Global immigration and mobility programs outside the United States. You will be the operational owner and subject matter expert for Global (non-U.S.) immigration, and a core partner on international transfers and select relocation workflows.

This is a hands‑on role with strong program management components: you’ll drive process design, vendor performance, cross‑functional coordination, and employee experience, while also stepping into execution on complex, time‑sensitive matters when needed. You will work in close partnership with the U.S. Immigration Program Manager, Relocation PM, and the broader Global Mobility function to ensure alignment across policy, tooling, comms, and reporting.

This role is based in London or Ireland. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and SME for global immigration support, including business travel, starting with OpenAI’s current international locations and covering additional countries as the company further expands globally.
  • Ensure alignment with the U.S. Immigration PM counterpart: maintain consistent global principles while tailoring for country‑specific regulatory requirements; align on policy, tooling, communications, and reporting.
  • Partner with Recruiting, Legal, HR, and business leaders as the primary Global immigration advisor, translating goals into scalable processes and clear decision frameworks (e.g., intake, prioritization, escalation).
  • Lead vendor strategy and performance: set expectations and SLAs, manage governance rhythms (QBRs/MBRs), oversee quality controls, and drive continuous improvement across service delivery.
  • Build and maintain program infrastructure: documentation, playbooks, intake and case routing, escalation protocols, stakeholder comms, and enablement for Recruiting/HRBPs.
  • Own metrics, forecasting, and budgeting: track pipeline and volume, monitor spend drivers, and proactively surface risks, tradeoffs, and capacity constraints.
  • Manage risk and compliance: partner with Employment Legal and Compliance to identify emerging risks, define controls, and ensure consistent policy application and audit readiness.
  • Drive tooling and automation improvements: identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve data integrity, including exploring AI‑enabled solutions where appropriate.
  • Operationally lead international transfers, coordinating across HRBPs, Legal, Payroll, Tax, and Workplace to ensure smooth moves and clear ownership across work streams.
  • Support relocation work streams as needed.
  • Help ensure mobility policies and practices align with local requirements, company values, and a consistent global approach.
  • Support international expansion as needed.
You might thrive in this role if you:
  • 7+ years of experience in global mobility and/or corporate immigration, with strong exposure to APAC and EMEA immigration and international transfers; broader regional exposure, i.e., Lat Am is a plus.
  • Experience managing and developing high‑performing direct reports in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to run programs end‑to‑end: structured process thinking, stakeholder management, and comfort operating in ambiguity.
  • Experience managing vendors and/or outside counsel, with a track record of driving measurable improvements in quality and timeliness.
  • Strong judgment and comfort handling sensitive, high‑stakes situations calmly and discreetly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate complex topics into clear guidance for employees and internal partners.
  • High ownership mentality: willing to roll up sleeves when needed while keeping an eye on…
