Director, Workflow Optimization

POSITION SUMMARY:

Carey International is seeking a Director of Workflow Optimization to lead the design, implementation, and scaling of automation and optimization solutions that transform enterprise-wide operational processes. This role will be instrumental in enabling Carey to deliver high-touch service at scale by streamlining workflows across dispatch, reservations, billing, chauffeur onboarding, and other core functions. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in process reengineering, and intelligent automation, with a proven ability to identify efficiency opportunities and translate them into scalable, technology-driven solutions.

This role requires close collaboration with business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure that automation initiatives integrate seamlessly with Carey’s core systems, deliver measurable ROI, and support the company’s broader digital transformation strategy. This position offers the opportunity to modernize Carey’s operational backbone during a pivotal period of enterprise innovation and process optimization.

• Automation Strategy & Delivery:
  • Develop and own Carey’s automation roadmap in collaboration with the VP, Digital Operations and key business stakeholders.
  • Design and deploy low-code/no-code solutions, and AI-powered workflow automation across customer service, finance, and field operations.
  • Lead end-to-end process reviews to identify automation candidates, assess ROI, and drive implementation.
  • Develop AI agents and AI orchestrations to automate repetitive workflows using existing AI solutions.
• Process Improvement & Change Management:
  • Partner with business process owners to document, analyze, and redesign high-impact workflows.
  • Use process mining and value stream mapping to uncover bottlenecks, redundancies, and automation opportunities.
  • Champion a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and employee empowerment.
• Technology & Vendor Coordination:
  • Collaborate with IT, AI, and Data teams to ensure smooth integration of automation solutions with core systems and data pipelines.
  • Manage external automation vendors and platforms, ensuring adherence to quality, security, and performance standards.
  • Stay up to date on emerging automation technologies and assess their applicability to Carey’s needs.
• Governance & Metrics:
  • Establish governance standards, documentation protocols, and risk controls for all automation projects.
  • Define and track KPIs to measure automation performance, cost savings, and productivity gains.
  • Present business cases and progress reports to senior leadership on automation impact.

• Educationn
  • Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field required.
  • Lean Six Sigma or automation certifications preferred.
• Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in business process improvement, automation, or operations strategy.
  • Proven experience leading IPA initiatives from concept to execution within a mid-to-large size organization.
  • Experience working with tools like UiPath, 8n8, Automation Anywhere, or similar platforms.
