Position: Senior Staff Software Engineer
## Senior Staff Software Engineer Circadia Health

** We are scaling from to $100M+, and our backend systems must scale faster than revenue. Our predictive models, agentic workflows, device telemetry, and enterprise integrations all depend on resilient infrastructure. As deployments multiply across SNFs nationally, performance, reliability, data integrity, and security become existential.

We need a Senior Staff Engineer who architects and hardens the backbone of Circadia’s platform—owning backend systems, integration frameworks, and infrastructure reliability s is not a ticket-closing role. This is a platform-defining role.
** What You’ll Do
** Architect Core Backend Systems Design and evolve high-performance services that ingest device telemetry, process predictive signals, orchestrate AI agents, and serve enterprise dashboards.

Own Integrations at Scale Build and harden integrations with EHRs, billing systems, and enterprise tools via HL7, FHIR, REST, SFTP, and webhook pipelines.

Design for Reliability & Throughput Ensure systems scale across tens of thousands → hundreds of thousands of patients with high availability and low latency.

Lead Infrastructure Strategy Own cloud architecture (AWS/GCP), containerization, CI/CD, monitoring, observability, and incident response standards.

Build Data Pipelines Develop secure, compliant data flows for time-series telemetry, clinical data ingestion, and AI model outputs.

Establish Engineering Standards Define backend architecture patterns, testing frameworks, deployment workflows, and code quality standards.

Improve Deployment Velocity Create tooling and infra improvements that reduce environment setup time, increase release confidence, and support rapid enterprise onboarding.

Ensure Security & Compliance Partner with Security and Compliance to maintain HIPAA, SOC 2, and healthcare-grade data protections.

Mentor & Raise the Bar Act as a technical leader across backend and infra teams—reviewing architecture, mentoring engineers, and driving long-term technical strategy.
** What “Great” Looks Like (Example Profile)
** Designed backend systems supporting 50K–500K+ users or devices

Built scalable ingestion pipelines for high-frequency time-series data

Led EHR or healthcare integrations (HL7/FHIR) in production

Reduced infrastructure costs while improving system reliability

Designed multi-region failover or high-availability architectures

Improved CI/CD velocity and reduced incident frequency materially
** Must-Have Qualifications
** 8+ years of backend software engineering experience

Deep expertise in distributed systems and AWS cloud

Strong proficiency in Python or Node/Type Script Experience  designing RESTful APIs and event-driven systems

Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
Familiarity with databases (Postgres, Redis, time-series DBs)
Strong understanding of observability (metrics, logging, tracing)
Experience scaling systems in high-growth production environments

Willing to work in Los Angeles (initially embedded with team)

Experience building AI/ML infrastructure pipelines

Familiarity with Kafka or streaming architectures

Background in regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC
