Build the AI Platform That Designs Real Hardware
We are partnering with an advanced defense and space technology organization building next-generation AI-driven engineering systems. This team is developing an AI-native Generative Engine that compresses complex hardware development cycles from years to days.
This is not a traditional software role.
You will architect and lead the multi-agent platform that enables AI systems to autonomously design propulsion systems, electronics, and manufacturable hardware end-to-end.
If you’ve built distributed systems at scale, deployed LLM-based platforms to production, and believe AI should directly interface with physics, simulation, and manufacturing—not just chat interfaces—this role is worth exploring.
What You’ll Do- Own the technical roadmap for a multi-agent engineering platform
- Architect orchestration systems that coordinate AI agents across complex hardware workflows
- Build secure execution environments where agents can autonomously run code, simulations, and analyses
- Design memory and reasoning systems (RAG, vector stores, provenance tracking) that allow agents to justify design decisions
- Optimize for latency, reliability, and observability across large numbers of concurrent agents
- Lead and mentor a small team building the next generation of computational engineering infrastructure
- Collaborate with propulsion, electronics, and manufacturing teams to translate real-world workflows into scalable agentic systems
- MS + 5 years or PhD + 3 years in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical field
- 5+ years building production-grade backend or distributed systems in high-throughput or mission-critical environments
- Strong programming experience in Python, Go, or Rust
- Hands-on experience building or integrating LLM-based systems or agent orchestration frameworks
- Experience with microservices, message buses, containerization, and observability tooling
- Proven technical leadership in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Bonus points for experience connecting AI systems to CAD/CAE tools, simulation platforms, or mission-critical engineering systems.
