Desktop Support Specialist

Duration: 3–4 months (potential extension)

We’re seeking skilled desktop support contractors to play a key role in a high-profile CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) domain migration initiative. You’ll help transition PCs and user accounts to a secure domain across multiple sites, ensuring a smooth experience for end users.

• Execute end-user PC migrations using established checklists and workflows
• Back up, restore, and validate user profiles and applications
• Leverage Power Shell scripts and migration tools for Active Directory transitions
• Coordinate device handoffs and returns with on-site teams
• Guide users through post-migration setup (logins, MFA, profile differences)
• Maintain logs, report issues, and support hardware imaging and PXE booting

• 3+ years of hands‑on desktop or IT field support experience
• Strong Windows 10/11 and Active Directory knowledge
• Experience with InTune and SCCM
• Experience with domain migrations, site cutovers, or IT transitions
• Skilled in IT workflows, backup tools, and Power Shell
• Excellent communication skills and professionalism with end users
• Detail‑oriented and process‑driven
• Schedule:
  
  Evenings and weekends required during cutovers
• Travel:
  Up to 40% to major U.S. cities (expenses reimbursed); occasional international travel possible
