The Superior Court of Los Angeles County is the largest unified trial court in the United States. The Court’s 582 judicial officers and its dedicated workforce of over 4,600 full‑time employees serving across 36 facilities work purposefully and seamlessly to achieve the mission to provide equal access to justice to all of Los Angeles County. AboutThe Position
The Superior Court is recruiting for three Senior Enterprise Architect vacancies, each aligned to a different technical specialty:
Enterprise Software Architecture, AI & Intelligent Systems Architecture, and Infrastructure & Cloud Architecture. All incumbents share core enterprise‑level responsibilities, while their day‑to‑day work will vary based on their assigned domain.
The Senior Enterprise Architect is a strategic, high‑impact role that shapes the Court’s long‑term technology direction. As a trusted advisor and technical authority, the Senior Enterprise Architect leads the development of enterprise‑wide architecture standards, roadmaps, and best practices that guide how the Court designs, modernizes, and supports its mission‑critical systems. Senior Enterprise Architects collaborate with Court leadership, technical teams, and operational stakeholders to evaluate emerging technologies, design integrated solutions, and ensure that technology investments align with organizational goals.
They influence major decisions, drive modernization efforts, and help build a cohesive, scalable, and secure technology ecosystem that supports the Court’s commitment to accessible and efficient justice. Candidates may be considered for one or more specialty areas based on their background and experience. Supplemental questions and interviews will be used to assess domain‑specific expertise.
Architects in this specialty lead the evolution of the Court’s application ecosystem. They design modern software architectures, integration patterns, and API frameworks; guide Dev Ops and CI/CD practices; and ensure that enterprise applications are scalable, secure, and aligned with business needs. This track is ideal for architects who thrive in complex application environments and enjoy shaping the future of enterprise software platforms.
AI& Intelligent Systems Architecture
Architects in this specialty help the Court explore and adopt AI‑enabled capabilities. They design data pipelines, automation frameworks, and machine learning platforms; evaluate emerging AI technologies; and establish governance and responsible‑use standards. This track is ideal for architects who are passionate about innovation and want to help the Court leverage intelligent systems to improve service delivery, efficiency, and decision‑making.
Infrastructure & Cloud ArchitectureArchitects in this specialty design the foundational technologies that power the Court’s operations. They lead hybrid cloud strategy, network and security architecture, compute and storage modernization, and disaster recovery planning. This track is ideal for architects who excel in building resilient, scalable, and secure infrastructure environments that support enterprise‑wide systems and services.
Core Enterprise Responsibilities- Develop and maintain enterprise architecture standards, policies, and governance frameworks to ensure consistent, scalable, and secure technology practices across the Court.
- Analyze current‑state and future‑state environments to create architectural roadmaps that guide long‑term technology investments and modernization initiatives.
- Design and model integrated architectures across applications, data, infrastructure, cloud services, and security to support mission‑critical Court operations.
