Operations Manager
UTA seeks a VP, People Operations to report to the SVP, Total Rewards, People Systems, and Operations. This individual will lead the evolution of the People function into a scalable, service-oriented operating model. This role is accountable for operational excellence across People Operations by designing and governing end-to-end workflows that are standardized, system-enabled, and measurable, delivering consistent, high-quality employee experiences at scale.
This leader will oversee core HR operations including compliance, mobility, and immigration, with a strong emphasis on process documentation, automation, and continuous improvement. The role partners closely with People Systems, Data Management, Reporting, and Analytics teams to ensure People processes are efficient, future-ready, and supported by technology, analytics, and selective application of AI where it meaningfully improves outcomes.
The salary range for this role is $240,000 to $265,000 commensurate with experience and skills.
What You Will Do- Build and lead a high-performing People Operations team grounded in collaboration, accountability, and exceptional service delivery.
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure People Operations are scalable, efficient, and employee-centric.
- Own the end-to-end design, governance, and optimization of People workflows, ensuring processes are standardized, well-documented, system-enabled, and continuously improved through automation and disciplined execution.
- Oversee People Shared Services, including employee support, data management, and compliance, with a strong focus on service quality, execution rigor, and operational consistency.
- Drive operational scale by reducing manual work, simplifying handoffs, and leveraging automation and intelligent tools to improve accuracy, speed, and reliability.
- Maintain accountability for HR policies and handbooks, including audits, controls, governance, and documentation.
- Lead HR service delivery through workflow-driven, automated case management, including employee support channels (HR inbox, ticketing systems, SLAs), escalations, and manager self-service.
- Manage mobility and immigration programs, contractor and contingent workforce processes, and other shared operational services.
- Partner with Finance, Payroll, Technology, and Legal on data governance, integration, policy alignment, and regulatory compliance.
- Establish and monitor KPIs, OKRs, and SLAs to proactively identify risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement, using data, automation, and analytics to drive decisions.
- Lead a comprehensive modernization of People Operations with a focus on standardization, system orchestration, and seamless handoffs across teams and platforms.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on end-to-end People workflows, ensuring processes are scalable, resilient, and designed for consistent execution.
- Champion the thoughtful application of automation and AI to reduce manual effort, improve compliance and accuracy, and enhance the employee experience at scale.
- Partner with Technology and Legal to implement and oversee a contract administration system and other critical operational platforms.
- Evaluate business and stakeholder needs against existing reporting capabilities to identify and close gaps.
- Develop and streamline People dashboards focused on hiring, attrition, compliance, workforce costs, overtime, and productivity.
- Promote an analytics-driven operating model that delivers timely, actionable insights to People leaders in close partnership with People Systems and functional teams, leveraging advanced analytics and AI where it strengthens prediction, risk identification, or decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements through accurate, timely, and well-governed reporting.
- Own People budget planning, presentation, and ongoing financial tracking.
- Provide project management leadership for critical People initiatives and serve as a center of excellence for operational execution.
- Establish and track OKRs to measure team performance and outcomes.
- Oversee the Mobility program.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience including at least 5+ years in multidiscipline leadership roles.
- Excel in a fast-paced environment bringing strong leadership, judgement and people management capabilities.
- Proven ability to scale HR operations through workflow design, automation, and disciplined execution.
- Demonstrate strong business acumen, the ability to align HR strategy with organizational goals and a consistent focus on improving employee experience through effective people, process, and technology solutions, including selective practical use of AI execution.
