Microsoft Security Engineer

Our Information Security team is seeking an experienced Microsoft Security Engineer to join us in a hands‑on, technical security role. This position will take over an existing contract previously aligned to Business Analyst Services (Cybersecurity Awareness & Training) and will focus on engineering, implementation, and security operations within the Microsoft security ecosystem.

This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in-office to collaborate closely with the Microsoft team.

• Implement and optimize Microsoft security solutions, including:
• Microsoft Sentinel
• Microsoft Purview
• Participate in security incident investigation and response activities.
• Evaluate and support implementation of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies and encryption strategies within Microsoft Purview.
• Perform security monitoring, rule tuning, and incident triage using SIEM platforms (e.g., Sentinel and Splunk).
• Evaluate, collaborate on, and implement security controls within Azure (identity management, secure configurations, etc.).
• Partner with Information Security teams to support vulnerability scans and risk assessments.
• Automate security workflows and incident response playbooks using tools such as Power Shell, Python, and Azure Logic Apps.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Security stack
• Experience in Azure security configuration and identity management
• Background in SIEM monitoring and incident response
• Scripting and automation experience (Power Shell, Python preferred)
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid team environment
