The Role:
Leader, Architect. Builder. Coach.
At Tillster, we build digital experiences behind the world's biggest restaurant brands. Ordering, loyalty, personalization - we help millions of guests connect with their favorite food, wherever they are.
Now, we're looking for a Head of Front-End Engineering / Front-End Architect to lead the charge across web and mobile platforms. You'll be hands-on, strategic, and obsessed with creating fast, scalable, and beautiful user experiences.
What You'll Do
Architect cross-platform experiences using React, Next.js, and react native new architecture
Scale our shared design system across apps and platforms
Lead our monorepo strategy with Turborepo or Nx
Optimize performance across SEO, accessibility, caching, and bundle size
Bridge mobile and web using Tamagui or shared UI libraries
Mentor engineers and lead technical direction across global teams
Integrate analytics and experimentation without compromising speed
Work alongside product, Dev Ops, and design to ship quality at scale
Our Stack & Tech Playground Area Tools Web & App Dev React 18+, Type Script, Next.js 13+, React Native 0.76, Expo EASDesign Systems Atomic design, Figma, Tamagui, tokens & theming
Architecture
Monorepo (Turborepo/Nx), Micro-frontends, REST APIs Mar Tech & Data Segment, Braze, MoEngage, Amplitude, GTM, Launch Darkly Cloud & DevOpsAWS (Lambda, S3, Cloud Front, RDS), Git Hub Actions, CDKTesting
Jest, RTL, Cypress, Detox, Charles Proxy, Postman Security Auth0 /Cognito, JWT, OWASP, XSS/CSRF prevention
Monitoring
Sentry, Datadog, Cloud Watch (bonus!)
What Makes You Stand Out

What We're Looking For
8-10+ years in software engineering (with team leadership)
Experience across both web and mobile ecosystems
Track record of building scalable apps and design systems
Comfort leading architectural decisions and shipping production code
Strong communicator across technical and business audiences
BS/MS in CS or equivalent real-world experience

Compensation & Perks
* Base Salary: $220,000-$290,000
