Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton, a global Am Law 50 firm, is seeking a Senior Intelligence Platform Engineer to serve as the technical delivery lead for the firm’s intelligence and experience management platform capabilities.
This role exists specifically to match the delivery demand generated by the firm’s newly formed K&I Enterprise Intelligence function – a Director of Enterprise Intelligence and a Firm Intelligence Manager who will define intelligence strategy and manage the Foundation platform on behalf of the firm’s practice groups.
We prefer candidates who can work from the Los Angeles, New York or Washington DC offices but are open to all of the U.S. offices which include Century City, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Orange County, San Diego (Downtown), San Diego (Del Mar), San Francisco, and Silicon Valley. There is only one opening.
Job SummaryThe immediate tactical need is direct: K&I’s two new intelligence leaders will generate platform enhancement requests, data integration requirements, and capability builds that require a senior engineer to own technical execution. Without this role, those requirements queue against existing EA engineering capacity already committed to the Enterprise Data Platform, the Data Governance Framework, and the firm’s AI application pipeline. This engineer unblocks that queue and gives K&I’s intelligence vision a technical delivery owner.
This is a hands‑on senior engineering role. The right person is equally comfortable designing an integration architecture and writing the code to implement it. They bring rigor to data quality, security, and lifecycle management, and provide technical leadership to two BI Developers on the team.

- Ability to engage directly with K&I and business stakeholders, translate intelligence requirements into technical specifications, and manage expectations on scope and delivery
- Ability to operate independently, prioritize across competing demands, and communicate technical decisions to non‑technical stakeholders
- Collaborative approach with a track record of mentoring junior engineers
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in data engineering, platform integration, or analytics engineering in a production environment
- Demonstrated experience delivering Microsoft Fabric or Azure data platform solutions end‑to‑end
- Experience with experience management platforms such as Foundation
- Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Inter Action or Salesforce in an integration context
- High‑end consultancy or tier‑1 technology platform background strongly preferred – candidates who have built enterprise‑grade data platforms at scale and can operate with minimal supervision in a fast‑moving program environment
