Job Overview

Senior Manager, Data Systems Operations in the Data Solutions & Platforms group of Enterprise Technology & Data at The Walt Disney Company. This senior leadership role manages a portfolio of over 30 applications and services related to Data, Analytics, AI, and Automation, and oversees a distributed team of Systems Engineers.

• Manage team members and vendors to deliver 24x7 platform technical support, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of critical business data.
• Operate high‑performance, highly scalable and flexible, cost‑effective data integration platform solutions that meet business requirements and conform to architectural designs and technology strategies.
• Oversee all operational aspects of all platforms and services in the Data portfolio, including availability, performance, capacity, currency, scalability, resiliency, security, compliance, and licensing.
• Manage incident and outage resolution, leading communication and remediation activities.
• Provide quality and timely resolution of platform defects, problems, and enhancement requests through application development lifecycle management.
• Oversee security and compliance for all applications and services in the portfolio.
• Run an agile‑based request management workflow to maximize velocity, improve quality, and reduce backlog.
• Partner with Business and Solution Architects to identify opportunities for improved customer service, increased agility, and availability.
• Work with multiple vendors and partners to deliver services against key performance indicators, manage contractual terms, and identify rationalization opportunities.
• Ensure Service Operations, Knowledge Management, Continuous Improvement, Service Level & Availability Management are operationalized across the team.
• Develop and guide direct reports through career path conversations, mentoring, and effective development plans.

• Minimum 10 years of technology management experience, with 7+ years leading engineering and operations teams for enterprise data & analytics platforms and applications.
• Hands‑on Dev Ops experience with data & analytics platform development and operations.
• Experience with highly scalable, enterprise, cloud‑based data platforms.
• Managing people and distributed teams (internal and external, onshore and offshore).
• Deep understanding of security and compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field, or equivalent work experience.

• Experience managing finance data systems.
• Experience with SAP technologies (S/4, HANA, BW, BDC, SLT).
• Experience with Snowflake.
• Experience managing SOX controls.
• Hands‑on experience with AI/ML and using AI to improve daily work processes.

The compensation range varies by location:
Orlando, FL ($148,300 – $198,800);
Burbank, CA ($155,700 – $208,700);
Seattle, WA ($163,100 – $218,700). Salary may be adjusted for equity, geographic region, and individual qualifications. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive may also be offered. Comprehensive medical, financial, and other benefits are provided.
