Job Summary:
Responsible for the setup, operation, and technical support of audio/visual systems for Club events and functions, as well as the configuration, maintenance, and support of desktop computing infrastructure, POS terminals, servers, printers, and network systems across Jonathan Club facilities.
The AV/Desktop Support Technician is responsible for the following:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute AV deployments for all Club events, banquets, meetings, and private functions at Jonathan Club facilities.
- Set up, operate, and strike audio systems including mixing boards, wireless microphones, speakers, amplifiers, and related equipment.
- Configure and manage projection systems, LED displays, video walls, and large-format screens for presentations, events, and entertainment.
- Support and maintain DirecTV, streaming services, and cable systems (formerly Time Warner Cable) across all Club venues and common areas.
- Coordinate with Events and Food & Beverage teams to ensure AV requirements are understood and executed for Triple Seat and Northstar bookings.
- Provide on-site AV technician support during events, ensuring smooth operation and rapid response to technical issues.
- Maintain inventory of all AV equipment; coordinate timely repairs and replacements.
- Train Club staff and event coordinators on proper use of AV equipment and simple event setups.
- Research and evaluate emerging AV technologies; recommend upgrades to enhance the member and guest experience.
Desktop & IT Support
- Install, repair, upgrade, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on all IT related equipment including, but not limited to;
Desktop PCs, Macs, laptops, handhelds, cell phones, tablets, iPads, and peripherals including printers, scanners, fax machines, and storage devices. - Evaluate, recommend, test, install, maintain, and fully support all Club software, including Global Northstar, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Sophos, Cylance, Triple Seat, Northstar, and App River spam filter.
- Install, configure, migrate, and maintain Windows Servers and related equipment including switches, routers, firewalls, and content filters.
- Manage network configurations (including iSCSI, WAPs), system resources, files, and directories.
- Maintain the Club’s Microsoft Exchange system.
- Administer and maintain Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, permissions, and organizational units.
- Identify, implement, and address network security and data protection/recovery using Veeam Backup systems, including nightly disk-to-disk and offsite backup routines.
- Create and update hardware/software inventory lists and maintain accurate records of software licenses, passwords, IP addresses, and network switch connections.
- Communicate with vendors and make recommendations for repairs and replacement items.
- Perform daily network and system walkthroughs and preventative maintenance across both locations.
- Research and maintain documentation to keep network and system technical knowledge current.
- Maintain and manage the IT ticketing system, ensuring tickets are logged with thorough, accurate resolution documentation and addressed within a timely manner.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in live event AV production, including audio mixing, projection, and video switching in a hospitality or private club environment.
- Proficiency with professional AV equipment: digital audio consoles, wireless microphone systems, video matrices, presentation systems, and digital signage.
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) in Windows preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Cisco certification (CCNP, CCSP, or CCIE) preferred, or equivalent networking experience.
- Degree in Computer Science, AV Technology, or a related field; or a minimum of 5–7 years of combined AV and IT technical support experience.
- Knowledge of Enterprise-level Windows networking principles.
