Construction Services Manager

Position Summary

This position is responsible for managing and successfully executing Data Management related programs and projects. The employee works under the general direction of the Data, Information and e‑Government Services Director in the Department of Technology Services (DTS). The Data Management unit administers and protects the County's production databases while also developing and implementing data architecture to improve quality, integrity, ease of access, and integration of the County data for e‑Government solutions.

• Manage and run the Data Management Unit including direct supervision of 5-6 staff and ensure that the County's production data resources are available in a reliable, secure, efficient and timely manner to users.
• Define, document, communicate, and implement an Enterprise Data Management Framework, including data management strategy, principles, policies, standards, tools, change management, and governance.
• Develop data knowledge by analyzing County's production databases and leverage that knowledge in identifying data quality, data integration and data standardization opportunities and coordinate with the business users to establish business rules and data standards for common data.
• Establish education, training and communication channels related to the data management; and support project‑specific data development activities.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, plus three years experience in database management.
• Experience in information technology architecture, information systems and data domain.
• At least one year of experience leading a Data Management organization.
• Additional experience may be substituted for the degree requirement on a year‑for‑year basis.
• Desirable: data management experience in a local government or similar organization.
• Minimum:
  Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, or a directly related area, plus three years experience in database management.
