Deskside Technician II

Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair hardware issues
- Perform urgent break/fix replacements following Knowledge Base Articles and work instructions
- Execute preventative maintenance and lifecycle activities
- Handle hardware troubleshooting on end‑user devices
- Use Service Now properly
- Manage Service Now queues and follow up on tickets
- Escalate unresolved tickets to desktop support or third‑party vendors
- Provide critical project support involving hardware and high‑touch user experience
- Conduct comprehensive site hardware asset inventory
- Maintain consumable device inventory counts
- Manage spare part and loaner pool
- Support IMACR/D requests
- Engage OEMs for warranty repairs and monitor status
- Escort OEM technicians onsite when necessary
- Assist clients with physical support for incidents related to network, datacenter, and other activities
- Work on child tickets as assigned by Level 2/3 client‑provided technical staff
- Knowledge of multiple manufacturers and operating systems
- Excellent troubleshooting capability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Skill in communicating technical information to non‑technical audiences
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Capacity to complete assignments without supervision
- Ability to locate support information internally and externally
- Customer‑oriented attitude
- Willingness to travel locally and in‑state to support other sites, if required
- Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance, if travel is required
- Adherence to attendance and schedule requirements
- Ability to walk, bend, lift (up to 50 pounds), and connect computer equipment
- Understanding and application of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures relevant to the field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in corporate desk‑side support, emphasizing Windows and MacOS and related applications
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and replacing hardware on PCs, Mac laptops, and desktops
- Experience with Active Directory
- Ability to deploy IT equipment (Windows, Mac)
- Skill in imaging and staging PCs
- Experience managing equipment inventory and lifecycle
- Capability in migrating end‑user data
- Knowledge of moving in‑scope IT equipment and coordinating its disposal
- Familiarity with facilitating third‑party vendor on‑site presence for lifecycle management
