Staff Product Designer, AI
Linktree is evolving from a link-in-bio product into an intelligent, trusted control center — one that doesn't just hold a creator's digital presence together, but actively helps them grow it. That means moving from a product that responds to what creators do, to one that observes what's working, reasons about what could be better, and increasingly takes action on their behalf.
We're hiring a Staff Product Designer, AI to lead the design of that agentic experience end-to-end. Not as a chatbot bolted onto a product, but as intelligence woven into the fabric of how Linktree works — showing up in the right moment, in the right form, with the right amount of control in the creator's hands. This role sits at the intersection of UX systems, product design, and AI-enabled behaviour.
You'll define how intelligence shows up inside Linktree — how opportunities surface, how actions are proposed or executed, and how we earn and maintain trust through clear controls, feedback loops, and honest system behaviour. It's one of the most consequential design roles at Linktree right now, and it will directly shape the core UX strategy for the rest of 2026 and beyond.
This Role Matters
At Linktree, we have something most companies building in this space don't: a clear, real-world job to be done for millions of creators and businesses who want to grow their presence but don't have the time or expertise to do it alone. The opportunity is to make Linktree feel less like a tool you operate and more like a system that works with you — one that earns autonomy over time by being useful, transparent, and safe.
The design of agentic experiences is genuinely unsolved — and getting it right requires deep design thinking, not just technical integration. As Staff Product Designer, AI, you'll own the question of what that experience actually feels like. And then you'll build it.
This role is accountable for the full observe → reason → decide → act → measure → improve loop across the product. That means designing:
- Agentic surfaces — how opportunities emerge, how Linktree explains its reasoning, and how creators understand what's about to happen before it does.
- Action execution UX — previews, confirmations, execution states, undo and rollback, activity logs, and failure handling that feels honest rather than apologetic.
- Autopilot controls and guardrails — user permissions, sensitivity settings, "act vs. ask" thresholds, and the controls that let creators calibrate how much autonomy they hand to the system.
- AI UX system primitives — the reusable patterns and components that power agent recommendations, tool execution states, trust signals, and confidence cues across every team building AI features.
- Measurement and learning loops — how impact is shown, how the system demonstrates it's getting better, and how creators correct it when it's wrong.
- Lead design for an embedded agentic experience that is proactive, quietly powerful, and never overwhelming — grounded in user research and data at every stage.
- Partner closely with ML, data, and engineering to translate model capability into human-understandable, actionable experiences that work in the messy real world.
- Define the UX contract for tool-calling: what actions exist, what inputs they require, what constraints and permissions apply, and what the safe defaults are.
- Create experience maps and flows that scale gracefully from guided → assisted → autonomous behaviour as creator trust develops over time.
- Drive alignment across Product, Engineering, Data, and Trust on the principles and patterns that make agentic behaviour coherent and safe across the product.
- Establish the success metrics and qualitative signals — adoption, trust, undo rates, satisfaction, measured impact — that will guide iteration and give the team honest feedback on what's working.
- Influence the AI product roadmap directly, providing design oversight that ensures coherent AI experiences across creation, insights, monetisation, and trust surfaces.
- Raise the bar for AI design craft across the broader design team — through reviews, critiques, pattern documentation, and…
