Job DescriptionOur client is looking for an experienced Functional Business Analyst with expertise in an ERP Finance application (FIN) to support the upgrade, enhancements, and maintenance of enterprise finance solutions for public sector clients. The analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, accounting offices, finance teams, and technical resources to analyze existing business processes, define functional requirements, configure application functionality, and support successful project delivery.
The role is based in the Los Angeles, CA office and involves on‑site work at client sites in Downey, CA.
- Meet with finance and accounting stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document current and new functional requirements.
- Analyze business processes, identify improvements, and recommend system enhancements.
- Configure and validate ERP Finance (FIN) application functionality, including payment processing, vendor management, general accounting, and cost accounting.
- Write functional specifications, BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, process flows, and functional design documents.
- Support testing, including UAT, SIT, regression testing, and production issue resolution.
- Coordinate test activities, provide production support, and troubleshoot functional issues.
- Create user documentation and training materials.
- Participate in project meetings and budget planning activities.
- Collaborate with technical teams on system configurations and development tasks.
- 5+ years of Business Analyst experience supporting ERP or financial management systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Public Administration, or related field.
- Hands‑on experience with an ERP system, preferably a Finance (FIN) module.
- Strong understanding of government accounting rules and processes.
- Experience gathering and documenting functional requirements.
- Knowledge and experience in Agile methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Experience with SQL for data validation and reporting (desired).
- Experience with Azure Dev Ops or Jira (desired).
- Experience with ERP implementation projects and state or local government accounting (desired).
