IT Project Manager
About the Role
Director of On‑site Technology Management for the Official Hospitality Program of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, CA. The successful candidate will lead the technology team responsible for planning, implementing, and operating all event technology and IT infrastructure at on‑site and off‑site venues.
Responsibilities- Direct, manage, and coordinate all activities of the On‑site Technology
Functional Area
. - Hire and supervise technical personnel to design, configure, implement, and maintain hardware and software systems.
- Procure computer hardware, operating systems, and other technology equipment in line with corporate standards.
- Manage the Cluster and Venue Technology Managers for all competition and off‑site venues.
- Act as the technical liaison between LA28 functional areas and internal departments such as Technology, Event Production, Security, and Workforce.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity before, during, and after Games time.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies that enhance technology operations.
- Build and maintain relationships with technology vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts as needed.
- Work with Finance and Accounting to onboard vendors and track invoicing and payments.
- Oversee the technology budget, ensuring expenditures stay within constraints for the Hospitality Program.
- Ensure all technology activities comply with US regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in technology management, project management, or business operations.
- Strong knowledge of current and emerging technologies, including networking, software, and hardware platforms.
- Experience managing technology infrastructure and delivering solutions for large‑scale events such as World Cups, Commonwealth Games, Euros, and Olympic Games.
- Proven client‑facing experience with the ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize budgets and tasks for timely delivery.
- Leadership skills to motivate and inspire teams under pressure.
- Experience recruiting and leading cross‑functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Fluency in verbal and written English is required.
- Proficiency in Spanish (verbal and written) is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience in the ticketing, travel, or hospitality industry is preferred but not required.
Los Angeles, CA. Salary range: $123,750 – $165,000 annually (subject to qualifications and experience).
