Principal IT Analyst – Lead Technology Projects That Matter!Are you an experienced technology professional who thrives on leading complex projects from concept to completion? Do you enjoy collaborating with technical experts, field operations staff, business stakeholders, and executive leadership to deliver impactful technology solutions?
We are seeking a Principal IT Analyst to manage high-profile technology initiatives that support critical infrastructure and essential public services. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned project manager to lead projects that may include cybersecurity, telecommunications, IT infrastructure, networking, operational technology (OT)/industrial control systems (ICS), asset management, and cloud-based applications.
What You'll DoAs a Principal IT Analyst
, you will serve as a project manager responsible for:
- Managing projects from planning through implementation and closeout.
- Developing project proposals, budgets, schedules, and status reports.
- Applying cost-benefit analysis and performance metrics to measure project success.
- Leading cross-functional teams comprised of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Coordinating with internal departments, consultants, vendors, and external agencies.
- Negotiating agreements and resolving complex technical and business issues.
- Identifying key project decisions and providing recommendations to management.
- Supporting project scoping, planning, and strategic technology initiatives.
Depending on project assignments, you may be required to visit facilities and stakeholder locations throughout Metropolitan's service area.
Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and eight years of increasingly responsible experience, of which two years must have been at the Senior Programmer Analyst or Senior Systems Analyst level.
Increasingly Responsible Experience is defined as: experience leading IT projects from inception through planning, execution, implementation, rollout and closeout, including scope, schedule, budget, and stakeholder communications.
Desirable Qualifications- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP), or equivalent cybersecurity certification.
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent that allows you to drive during your employment is required at time of application.
ScheduleSchedule: 9/80, Monday through Friday/Every other Friday off. Monday through Thursday 9 hours per day, 8 hours per day every other Friday. Start times are no earlier than 6 am and end times are no later than 6 pm.
HybridHybrid: Metropolitan’s current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational needs. In addition, a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.
This job may require coming into the office more than two days per week based on operational needs or projects.
