Technical Product Manager, Internal Platform (Infrastructure & Data) #3051
The Mission
Join our team as a Senior Technical Product Manager to own our core Infrastructure & Data Platform - the backbone our engineers depend on every day. Your mission is to elevate developer velocity, scale our GCP-based infrastructure (GKE, Terraform, serverless), and expand our data capabilities (Airflow, Snowflake/Big Query), while driving platform adoption and stability across engineering teams. This is a hands-on execution role: you'll act as the primary bridge between platform engineering and internal teams, turning a clear technical vision into reliable, shipped outcomes.
The RoleAs the Technical Product Manager for our Internal Platform, you'll own an internal developer and data platform that other engineering teams rely on daily.
- Platform & Data Ownership: Own the core GCP infrastructure and data platform end-to-end, translating stakeholder needs into a clear, prioritized roadmap and shipped outcomes.
- Developer Velocity & Scale: Shape the internal developer experience for containerized (GKE) and serverless environments, streamlining provisioning and driving adoption across engineering teams.
- Data Stack Expansion: Help deliver data pipelines (Airflow), warehousing (Snowflake, Big Query), and event streaming (Pub/Sub) to democratize data access without introducing risk.
- Reliability & Security: Drive initiatives that improve system stability and reduce outages, while embedding security practices, compliance, and secrets management into the platform.
- Execution &
Collaboration:
Partner closely with engineering leads and internal stakeholders, managing trade-offs, scope, and dependencies to deliver reliably.
- Platform PM
Experience:
5+ years as a Technical Product Manager with direct ownership of internal developer platforms, Dev Ops, cloud infrastructure, or data engineering. - GCP & Container Expertise: Deep hands-on or strong conceptual depth in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Terraform, and Git Hub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
- Internal Rollouts at Scale: Proven ability to drive developer adoption, lower cognitive load, and roll out internal platform features across engineering teams.
- Data Stack Fluency: Practical knowledge of modern data architecture, including orchestration (Airflow), warehousing (Snowflake/Big Query), and event streaming (Pub/Sub).
- Security & Compliance Competence: Solid understanding of secrets management tooling (e.g., Google Secret Manager, Vault) and ability to build plans aligned with security frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS).
- Timezone: Ability to maintain at least 6 hours of daily overlap with Pacific Time (PST / PDT).
- Demonstrated success in SRE-adjacent work, infrastructure migrations, or reducing outages at scale.
- Experience defining and tracking core operational metrics (e.g., DORA metrics, platform adoption, cost per workload).
- Familiarity with StateRAMP or FedRAMP compliance frameworks.
- Ownership-Oriented: You carry a strong ownership mindset, treating platform stability as a product outcome rather than a background task.
- Calm Under Pressure: You stay methodical and composed during incidents and outages, when clear thinking matters most.
- Collaborative Communicator: You communicate clearly and partner effectively with engineering and stakeholders to keep everyone aligned.
