Client Overview
Our client is a small biotech company focused on neurodegeneration. They are currently looking to add a Senior Data Scientist to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate$150k - $180k
Position OverviewOur client is seeking a hands‑on Senior Data Scientist to own and build the company’s scientific data platform and analytics infrastructure. The Senior Data Scientist will transform experimental data into reliable, decision‑ready insights while partnering closely with scientists, engineers, and leadership.
Responsibilities Of The Senior Data Scientist- Own AWS-based scientific data infrastructure, including data ingestion, organization, quality control, metadata, and access.
- Develop internal AI/LLM tools, analytical workflows, and research knowledge systems.
- Build and maintain ML/computer-vision pipelines for microscopy and histology image analysis.
- Establish automated data-quality, validation, and error-checking processes.
- Analyze behavioral, imaging, histology, and omics datasets using statistical methods.
- Build reproducible, production-quality analytical pipelines.
- Partner with the Engineering and Scientific teams to connect computational predictions with experimental results.
- The Senior Data Scientist will have significant ownership and autonomy across the data function.
- 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong Python and applied statistics skills.
- Experience building analytical/data pipelines and reproducible workflows.
- Experience with version control, testing, documentation, and quality controls.
- Experience building LLM-based tools, assistants, or automations.
- AWS/cloud data engineering experience, including S3.
- Experience with ML/computer vision and image segmentation.
- Strong ability to work with experimental/scientific datasets.
- Master's degree or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline is preferred.
