Cloud Security Engineer

Role overview

The Cloud Security Engineer designs, automates, and operates secure, production-grade infrastructure for customer environments across major cloud platforms. The role combines architecture, platform engineering, container operations, security, compliance, and advanced technical support, with a strong focus on reliability and operational maturity.

• Partner with architecture and development teams to build highly available cloud environments for internal and external deployments.
• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure platforms and supporting internal tools.
• Provide advanced technical support for internal teams, customers, and partners, including investigation of integration and implementation issues.
• Guide customers on cloud deployment patterns and act as a subject-matter expert for infrastructure supporting core products.
• Perform troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, maintenance planning, and on-call process improvements.
• Document operating procedures, best practices, and lessons learned, and feed implementation insights back to development teams.

• At least six years of information technology experience, including infrastructure or platform automation.
• At least four years engineering and supporting containerized environments, including Kubernetes or Open Shift and Docker.
• At least four years working with one or more major cloud providers, such as AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP.
• Experience delivering end-to-end cloud solutions from detailed architecture documents and translating customer needs into new infrastructure.
• Strong networking fundamentals and practical knowledge of security and compliance controls for SOC 2, HIPAA, and ISO 27001 environments.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Cloud Formation, plus troubleshooting escalations and documenting operational knowledge.

Professional cloud certifications are preferred. Experience managing customer environments and optimizing infrastructure for high-velocity software teams is valuable.
