Job Summary
The Information Security Fresher will support the organization's efforts to protect sensitive customer, financial, and policy data. This role involves monitoring security controls, assisting in risk assessments, supporting compliance with insurance and regulatory standards, and helping maintain a secure IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring information security systems, logs, and alerts to detect potential security incidents
- Support implementation and maintenance of information security policies, standards, and procedures
- Help conduct basic risk assessments and vulnerability assessments on applications and infrastructure
- Assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (IRDAI, ISO 27001, data protection laws, etc.)
- Support access control management (user access reviews, privilege management)
- Participate in incident response activities such as investigation, documentation, and reporting
- Assist in data protection initiatives including encryption, backup verification, and secure data handling
- Help with security awareness programs and phishing simulations for employees
- Maintain documentation related to security controls, incidents, and audits
- Coordinate with IT, application, and business teams to address security gaps
Required Skills & Knowledge
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of information security concepts (CIA triad, risk, threats, vulnerabilities)
Familiarity with
:
- Network security fundamentals
- Operating systems (Windows/Linux basics)
- Firewalls, antivirus, endpoint security concepts
Basic knowledge of
:
- Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Encryption and data protection principles
- Secure application development concepts (OWASP basics)
Tools (Exposure preferred, not mandatory)
- SIEM tools (basic awareness)
- Vulnerability scanning tools
- Microsoft security tools or similar platforms
Experience - 1-3 years.
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in:
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Cyber Security
- Electronics or related field
Preferred Certifications (Optional)
- ISO 27001 Foundation
- CEH (Beginner level)
- CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent knowledge)
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and documentation skills
- Willingness to learn security tools and insurance regulations
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Ethical mindset and respect for confidentiality
