Role overview
The Director of Security Operations leads the day-to-day cybersecurity operations function across traditional and AI-enabled environments. Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer, this hands-on technical leadership role partners closely with the Security Architecture & Engineering organization to drive operational excellence in detection, response, and resilience across a large-scale cloud platform.
Responsibilities- Direct end-to-end security operations including monitoring, incident response, threat hunting, vulnerability management, adversary emulation, identity security, and operational resilience.
- Set operational priorities, service objectives, metrics, playbooks, and processes aligned to organizational risk and business needs.
- Serve as incident commander for major cybersecurity events and translate post-incident learnings into concrete control and process improvements.
- Drive responsible adoption of AI-assisted capabilities for detection, investigation, vulnerability analysis, threat hunting, and response.
- Ensure effective security monitoring and response coverage for AI applications, autonomous agents, workloads, and non-human identities.
- Apply automation to compress detection, analysis, containment, and remediation timelines and reduce manual toil.
- Partner with Security Architecture & Engineering on control design, implementation, operationalization, monitoring, and validation.
- Develop security talent and deliver clear executive reporting on incidents, exposure, operational performance, risk, and program maturity.
- Experience leading Security Operations, Incident Response, Detection Engineering, Vulnerability Management, IAM, or related cybersecurity functions.
- Hands-on experience implementing and operating security controls across cloud, infrastructure, applications, identity, endpoints, and networks.
- Strong technical grounding in security analytics, detection engineering, exposure management, adversary emulation, and identity security.
- Track record leading significant cybersecurity incidents and coordinating cross-functional response activities.
- Experience implementing security automation and AI-assisted operational capabilities.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, communication, and executive presentation skills.
- Experience in cloud-native or large-scale distributed environments and familiarity with modern cybersecurity and AI-risk frameworks.

- US base pay range: $205,000-$230,000, with final offers influenced by location, experience depth, and relevant credentials.
