Required EducationBachelor’s degree or Associates degree in IT related field (i.e. Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Security, Information Resource Management).
Required Experience- Minimum of 5 years IT experience, of which at least 3 years are of Configuration Management/Tech Editing experience at a large corporation or Government agency similar in size/scope to GSA, IRS, DoD or VA.
- A Master’s degree in a related IT field (i.e. Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Security, Information Resource Management) may substitute for up to 2 years of the required experience
- Expertise in project management or working in a project-oriented environment, with an understanding of how configuration management fits into the overall project lifecycle
Ping Wind is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Configuration Management & Documentation Specialist/Tech Writer to join our dynamic team supporting a large Federal Government client. Provide configuration management, change management, and technical documentation expertise to maintain accurate, controlled, and traceable technical information throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Identify, control, record, audit, and report the status of configuration items.
- Maintain records for hardware, software, system configurations, documentation, and deliverables.
- Develop and update technical processes, configuration standards, baselines, and procedures.
- Support change‑control processes and maintain associated documentation and traceability.
- Maintain and support centralized CMDB information in accordance with ITSM practices.
- Coordinate configuration management activities across technical and project teams.
- Perform documentation reviews and quality‑control activities to ensure accurate technical artifacts.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required VA background investigation/suitability and system access.
- Experience with configuration/change management and technical documentation in IT or software development environments.
- Experience with ITSM practices and centralized CMDBs.
- VA/Federal technical documentation experience.
- ITIL certification.
- Experience with automated configuration or compliance tracking tools.
