Privacy Lawyer​/Privacy Lead

Elevate Legal Talent is seeking an experienced Privacy Lawyer/Privacy Lead to join a leading global technology and information services organisation on an interim contract through the end of December
.

This is an exciting opportunity to support a global privacy programme, working at the intersection of privacy, technology, data governance and compliance
. The successful candidate will play a key role in ope rationalising privacy processes, managing data inventories and mapping initiatives, and driving privacy compliance across a complex international organisation.

About You

• Qualified lawyer with approximately 8+ years' PQE.
• Previous experience managing or leading a privacy operations team.
• Experience in privacy operations
  , data protection, cybersecurity or compliance.
• Advanced/expert One Trust experience is essential (ideally with 3–5+ years' hands-on experience configuring and managing the platform).
• Strong experience with data mapping and data inventory management
  .
• Strong knowledge of GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and wider international privacy regulations.
• Experience managing privacy processes including DPIAs/PIAs, TIAs, DSARs and ROPA
  .
• Experience translating privacy and regulatory requirements into practical operational processes and system controls
  .
• Strong understanding of data flows, data classification, retention and lifecycle management.
• Experience working with Legal, IT, Information Security, Product and business stakeholders
  .
• Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of work and competing priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and ope rationalise the organisation's global privacy programme.
• Configure, manage and optimise One Trust privacy management processes and workflows.
• Build and maintain data inventories and data mapping initiatives.
• Manage privacy assessments including PIAs, DPIAs and TIAs
  .
• Coordinate DSARs and other privacy-related operational processes.
• Maintain ROPA and wider privacy documentation
  .
• Identify privacy risks and work with stakeholders to implement appropriate mitigation measures.
• Support privacy incident response, audits and regulatory enquiries.
• Partner with Legal, IT, Information Security, Product and Business teams to embed privacy-by-design principles.
• Support vendor and third-party privacy assessments and contractual privacy requirements.
• Develop and maintain privacy procedures, playbooks, reporting and programme metrics.
• Identify opportunities to improve and automate privacy processes using technology and AI-enabled tools.
• Experience supporting legal, financial services, SaaS or other highly regulated/data-driven organisations
  .
• Privacy certification such as CIPM, CIPP/E or CIPP/US
  .
• Experience with Power BI, Power Automate or other workflow/automation tools.
• Experience with data governance tools, SIEM systems or privacy-enhancing technologies.
• Experience with privacy automation and AI governance
  .
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and practices.
