Interpreter

We are currently seeking a skilled and professional Interpreter/Translator to join our team in Los Angeles. As an Interpreter you will be responsible for providing accurate and efficient interpretation services between English and Malayalam for various clients in a variety of settings.

• Provide oral interpretation services during meetings, conferences and other events
• Translate written documents from English to Malayalam and vice versa
• Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times
• Research technical terminology to ensure accurate interpretation
• Adapt to different dialects, accents and cultural differences in order to provide effective communication between parties
• Keep abreast of industry developments and new vocabulary in both languages

• Fluent in both English and Malayalam verbal and written
• Proven experience as an interpreter or translator preferred but not required
• Familiarity with translation software is a plus
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interpret accurately, quickly and clearly
• Strong knowledge of cultural differences and the ability to adapt accordingly
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Must be able to handle sensitive information with discretion

• Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics or related field preferred
• Relevant certification from a recognized institution is a plus
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

Salary: $1600 per month, negotiable based on experience.

This is a contract position with the potential for long-term employment.
