Bilingual Farsi Patient Advocate – Connect Farsi‑Speaking LA Seniors to Free Care

All Seniors Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non‑profit committed to improving the quality of life for older adults across Los Angeles County. We provide medical care, in‑home support, hospice and palliative care, cancer navigation, and 200+ other free services to qualifying seniors. Every service is delivered at no cost, regardless of insurance status.

Role Overview :

As Bilingual Farsi Patient Advocate, you will serve as the trusted point of contact for Farsi‑speaking older adults across Tehrangeles (Westwood) and the broader LA Iranian‑American community. You will translate and advocate through Medi‑Cal, IHSS, hospice, and benefits navigation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial assessments with Farsi‑speaking seniors and families
  • Translate between English‑speaking staff and Farsi‑speaking clients during medical and benefits conversations
  • Help clients enroll in Medi‑Cal, IHSS, hospice, Medicare Savings Programs, and other benefits
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments and benefits offices as interpreter and advocate
  • Document interactions in our case‑management system and follow up on open issues
  • Build trust with Iranian‑American communities through outreach at synagogues, community centers, and senior housing
Qualifications:
  • Native or near‑native fluency in Farsi (Persian) AND English;
    Dari a plus
  • Experience working with elderly populations, healthcare systems, or social services
  • Cultural competency with Iranian‑American senior communities (including Jewish, Muslim, Bahai, and Christian Iranians)
  • Strong empathy, patience, and ability to explain complex topics in plain language
  • High school diploma; bachelor's in social work, public health, or related preferred
