Bilingual Russian Patient Advocate – Connect Russian-Speaking LA Seniors to Free Care

We provide medical care, in-home support, hospice and palliative care, cancer navigation, and 200+ other free services to qualifying seniors. Every service is delivered at no cost, regardless of insurance status.
Role Overview :As Bilingual Russian Patient Advocate, you will serve as the trusted point of contact for Russian-speaking older adults across west LA, Hollywood, and beyond. You will translate and advocate through Medi‑Cal, IHSS, hospice, and other benefits navigation.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct initial assessments with Russian-speaking seniors and families
- Translate between English-speaking staff and Russian-speaking clients during medical and benefits conversations
- Help clients enroll in Medi‑Cal, IHSS, hospice, Medicare Savings Programs, and other benefits
- Accompany clients to medical appointments and benefits offices as interpreter and advocate
- Document interactions in our case-management system and follow up on open issues
- Build trust with Russian-speaking communities (including Ukrainian, Belarusian, Moldovan) through outreach
- Native or near-native fluency in Russian AND English;
Ukrainian a plus - Experience working with elderly populations, healthcare systems, or social services
- Cultural competency with Russian/Eastern European senior communities, including immigrants from former Soviet states
- Strong empathy, patience, and ability to explain complex topics in plain language
- High school diploma; bachelor's in social work, public health, or related preferred
- Competitive salary ($48,000–$68,000) with bilingual differential
