A leading utility‑scale renewable energy developer is seeking a Senior Counsel to join its growing legal team. This role will support the development and financing of large‑scale solar projects, with a focus on real estate and construction‑related matters.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and support real estate transactions and project closings
, including drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, option agreements, easements, and leases. - Advise on and negotiate project development agreements
, including EPC, procurement, and other construction‑related contracts
. - Assist with sale‑leaseback and other project financing structures
. - Partner closely with development, commercial, and finance teams to manage deal execution from diligence through closing.
- Coordinate with external counsel as needed.
- Approximately 3–5 years of experience in renewable energy and/or real estate transactions.
- Strong law firm training required
; prior in‑house experience with a developer is a plus. - Demonstrated experience handling sophisticated transactional work and managing closings.
- Exposure to both real estate and construction/EPC matters preferred (candidates with strength in one area and interest in the other will be considered).
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and project management skills.
- Los Angeles (preferred), with consideration for San Francisco or Durham
