Senior Attorney - Education Law

We are seeking a Senior Education Law Attorney with substantial experience representing public entities, including school districts, county offices of education, and other governmental agencies. This role is designed for a seasoned practitioner capable of independently managing complex, high-exposure matters while serving as a strategic advisor to institutional clients.

• Represent public school districts, boards, and educational institutions in litigation, administrative hearings, and advisory matters
• Defend claims involving special education (IDEA compliance), student discipline, Title IX, employment disputes, discrimination, civil rights, and constitutional claims
• Provide day-to-day counsel to superintendents, HR departments, and governing boards
• Handle administrative proceedings before agencies such as the California Department of Education and the Office of Administrative Hearings
• Draft board policies, conduct investigations, and advise on regulatory compliance
• Manage discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, mediations, and trial preparation
• Present at board meetings and conduct trainings for district leadership

• Minimum 8–12+ years of experience in education law and/or public entity defense
• Demonstrated experience representing school districts or governmental bodies
• Strong working knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, ADA, Title IX, Brown Act, and public employment frameworks
• Significant litigation and administrative hearing experience
• Active license in good standing (California Bar preferred)

• Full-time
• Salary range: $215, annually + performance bonuses
