Freight Broker

MIH is a growing freight brokerage dedicated to helping our clients move freight efficiently, reliably, and with superior service. As we expand, we’re looking for a full-time hire to manage our day-to-day operations. We are looking for someone experienced and proficient in the logistics and transportation industry.

Position Summary

As the Account Manager, you will play a critical role in running the daily functions of our brokerage. This is a hands-on position that requires an organized, self-motivated individual who can manage loads from quote to delivery, handle customer and carrier communication, and ensure smooth, efficient operations. You will work directly with the company owner and have the opportunity to grow with the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full freight cycle: quoting, booking, dispatching, tracking, and closing loads
• Source and negotiate with carriers to secure capacity and competitive rates
• Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and shippers
• Monitor shipments to ensure timely pickups and deliveries, resolving issues as they arise
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our TMS (Transportation Management System)
• Handle day-to-day customer service inquiries and provide shipment updates
• Ensure compliance with DOT and industry regulations
• Provide insight into operational improvements and growth opportunities

Qualifications

• Extremely strong communication and organizational skills
• Familiarity with logistics related websites/tools (DAT/Truckstop/TMS/Excel
• A professional, customer-focused attitude
• Any prior experience in a customer service, operations, or administrative role
