About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Ocean Export Coordinator to join our Corporate Headquarters in Los Angeles, CA. Reporting to the Export Manager, this position will oversee the daily coordination and processing of ocean export shipments, ensuring cargo moves efficiently and in compliance with U.S. export requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in ocean freight forwarding, logistics, NVOCC, drayage, or supply chain operations, along with strong customer service and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and process daily ocean export shipments and coordinate pickup arrangements.
  • Create and maintain shipment files and ensure all information is accurate and up to date.
  • Coordinate bookings with steamship lines and determine applicable rates and costs.
  • Manage both consolidated and direct ocean cargo shipments.
  • Coordinate with drayage and trucking teams to ensure transportation requirements are met.
  • Prepare, process, and distribute export documentation.
  • Ensure shipment files comply with U.S. Customs export requirements.
  • Track cargo and provide timely updates to customers, overseas agents, and internal teams.
  • Maintain professional and effective communication through email and phone.
  • Provide pricing support to customers, agents, and sales teams.
  • Prepare invoices and monitor customer payments according to established credit terms.
  • Audit and approve vendor payments.
  • Complete and report profit and loss for assigned shipment files.
  • Support department initiatives and special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy while managing multiple shipments and priorities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, 3PL, or ocean import/export.
  • Experience with NVOCC, customer brokerage, and/or drayage.
  • Strong understanding of ocean export documentation and shipment processes preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Cargo Wise is a plus.
  • Excellent data entry, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Strong time-management and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Mandarin-speaking skills are a plus, but not required.
