Our client is a family-owned business specializing in sourcing, developing, and distributing textiles and other soft goods around the world. They are seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead day-to-day operations, drive process improvement initiatives, and ensure the continued efficiency and scalability of the organization.

This individual will oversee customer service, purchasing, inventory, and logistics functions while partnering closely with leadership to improve operational performance, enhance reporting and visibility, and support the company's ongoing growth.

This is an in-person role, reporting to our client's office in Brentwood (Los Angeles) five days per week.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support the Fiber Team, ensuring roles, responsibilities, and priorities are clearly defined and executed efficiently
  • Manage and mentor customer service personnel, establishing performance expectations, monitoring key metrics, and ensuring timely and accurate customer communication and invoicing
  • Monitor operational KPIs across customer service, purchasing, inventory, warehousing, and logistics functions; identify trends and implement improvements
  • Manage open purchase orders, coordinate with shipping providers for scheduling, and maximize available shipping space by aligning with carrier allocations
  • Follow up on pending bookings and proactively resolve supply chain disruptions
  • Assess current and future warehouse space requirements and communicate inventory, storage, and customer pickup concerns to management and sales teams
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing and shipment timing to maintain appropriate stock levels
  • Analyze shipping and logistics data, including detention, demurrage, trucking, drayage, carrier performance metrics, and vendor performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements
  • Partner closely with accounting, customer service, purchasing, traffic/logistics, and leadership teams to ensure timely execution of priorities and effective communication across departments
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying workflow bottlenecks and implementing scalable processes to support future growth
  • Support and help optimize the company's Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP platform, working with internal stakeholders and external vendors to improve functionality, reporting capabilities, and data visibility
  • Develop and maintain operational reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics that provide leadership with meaningful business insights
  • Champion the continued transition from manual and paper-based processes to more efficient digital workflows
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, customer service leadership, or a related field
  • Experience with in fiber, textile, commodity, industrial distribution, or related industries strongly preferred
  • Proven experience leading teams and driving cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong understanding of logistics, purchasing, inventory management, warehousing, customer service operations, and supply chain processes
  • Experience working with ERP systems;
    Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is highly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data, develop KPIs, and provide actionable business recommendations
  • Demonstrated success improving processes, implementing operational efficiencies, and driving accountability across teams
  • Comfortable operating in a small, entrepreneurial environment where flexibility, initiative, and a hands-on approach are required
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while effectively partnering with employees, vendors, and leadership teams
  • History of working in smaller organizations and successfully wearing multiple hats is strongly preferred
Compensation

Targeting a base salary: $130,000 - $160,000
