Senior Supply Chain Program Manager - Los Angeles
Altius Talent is partnering with an established international logistics and supply chain solutions provider seeking an experienced Senior Supply Chain Program Manager in Los Angeles.
This is not a traditional freight forwarding management position.
The successful individual will take operational ownership of complex customer supply chains, managing activity from upstream suppliers, procurement and purchase orders through international transportation, customs, inventory movement, warehousing, distribution and final delivery.
The customer portfolio includes major retail, premium consumer and high-value technology businesses with complex international supply chains.
Initially, this will be a hands-on operational position focused on understanding, managing and improving existing customer programs. As the role develops, it is expected to become increasingly client-facing, with responsibility for strategic reviews, performance improvement and senior customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex end-to-end supply chain programs on behalf of assigned customers.
- Coordinate suppliers, manufacturers, freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, warehouses and distribution partners.
- Oversee supplier readiness, purchase orders, origin activity, air and ocean freight, customs clearance and final delivery.
- Maintain visibility across raw materials, components, work in progress, inventory and finished products.
- Identify delays, supply-chain risks and service failures before they affect the customer.
Develop and maintain customer-specific SOPs, escalation processes and operating controls. - Monitor service levels, costs, lead times, inventory flow and operational KPIs.
- Lead corrective actions and continuous-improvement projects.
- Produce meaningful operational reporting and supply-chain analysis.
- Develop into a senior point of contact for customer stakeholders, operational reviews and strategic discussions.
Experience Required
- Significant experience within international freight forwarding, 3PL, 4PL, lead logistics or supply chain management.
- Demonstrable experience managing activity beyond individual shipment execution.
- Strong understanding of international air and ocean freight.
- Experience involving purchase-order management, supplier management, origin operations or procurement activity.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across different countries, service providers and stages of the supply chain.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and exception-management capabilities.
- Confident communication skills with the potential to manage senior customer relationships.
- Experience supporting retail, consumer products, technology, electronics or other high-value supply chains would be advantageous.
