Supply Chain Operations Manager

Altius Talent is partnering with an established international logistics provider seeking a hands‑on Supply Chain Operations Manager in Los Angeles.

This is not a conventional forwarding position focused solely on moving individual shipments—and it is not a purely strategic management role.

You will manage the day‑to‑day operation of complex customer supply chains, from suppliers, procurement activity and purchase orders through international transportation, customs, warehousing and final delivery.

The customer portfolio includes major retail, premium consumer and high‑value technology businesses operating complex international supply chains.

• Managing customer supply chains from purchase order through final delivery
• Coordinating suppliers, manufacturers, carriers, forwarders, customs brokers and warehouses
• Managing international air and ocean freight operations
• Monitoring raw materials, components, inventory and finished products
• Handling bookings, documentation, shipment milestones, exceptions and escalations
• Ensuring customer‑specific SOPs and service requirements are followed
• Tracking performance, costs, lead times and operational KPIs
• Identifying problems and implementing practical process improvements
• Providing customers with accurate operational updates and reporting
• Developing into a more client‑facing position as the operation grows

• At least five years of international freight forwarding or supply chain experience
• Strong hands‑on air and ocean freight operational knowledge
• Experience with purchase orders, suppliers, vendors or order management
• An understanding of the full supply chain beyond port‑to‑port transportation
• The ability to remain operational while taking ownership of the wider customer program
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and exception‑management skills
• Experience with retail, consumer products, electronics or other high‑value commodities would be advantageous
