When you join us as a Payroll Manager, you will be joining a dedicated team of professionals who deliver quality, value, and access in the 21st century and align all stakeholders‑patients, providers, payors, and regulators to achieve the best clinical outcomes.

You

Will:
  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
  • Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
  • Reconciles Payroll Funding against registers and General Ledger and resolves payroll discrepancies.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Assures proper tax treatment, accounting, and disposition of with holdings, such as taxes, deductions for benefits, charitable contributions, retirement contributions, other savings, etc.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Prepares department policies and procedures in both written and visual workflow.
  • Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintains payroll staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintains payroll staff job results by counseling and coaching employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Reviews payroll staff desk and work methods for optimal efficiency.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

To Ensure Success In This Role, You Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) required.
  • Five years of experience in Payroll managerial position or any similar combination of education and experience required.
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Must be trustworthy, personable and able to work independently without the need for micromanagement.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • High proficiency in MS Office suite with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred; (Pivot Tables and v‑lookups are a must)
  • Proficient with payroll software and interfaces.
  • Ability to work in a demanding and dynamic fast‑paced environment with the flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations.
