We are seeking an Executive Director of Development to serve as a strong partner to the Senior Associate Dean of External Affairs in an environment of excellence and a culture characterized by sharing success, thinking fearlessly and driving change. This is a high-impact leadership role designed for an experienced fundraiser who can help us catalyze ideas into action and raise the necessary support to attain our philanthropic goals and objectives.
As our Executive Director, you will execute high-level strategies to secure major/principal gifts with a focus on endowed chairs and program expansion; provide comprehensive oversight to our major and annual giving teams, to include driving ambitious results for our Leadership, Reunion and Young Alumni giving programs; work collaboratively to align donor passions with Anderson’s strategic priorities and directly manage a premier portfolio of prospects and donors.

Salary & Compensation- UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. - Minimum of seven years of experience and progressive responsibility as a professional development officer or similar professional experience in a nonprofit, membership/volunteer driven or another related environment. (Required)
- Progressively responsible experience in the design, implementation and management of complex development or comparable programs including the ability to envision and articulate future direction. (Required)
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful cultivation and solicitation strategies and soliciting high-level major gifts and /or prior experience with solicitations of a similar nature, level and complexity. (Required)
- Demonstrated management and leadership experience and skills to supervise fundraising officers as well as other professional and support staff. (Required)
- Experience conceptualizing, planning and implementing special events. (Required)
- Prior experience in a capital campaign setting. (Preferred)
- Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of major gift fundraising in a major research university or institution of equivalent complexity. (Required)
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build successful relationships with prospects, volunteers, board members, senior academic leadership, high-level staff campus-wide and other development staff toward the accomplishment of fundraising goals. (Required)
