We are seeking an experienced Planning & Development Project Manager to lead the full lifecycle of complex public-sector and educational construction projects—from inception and planning through design, development, and project close-out. This role requires a strategic, detail-oriented leader capable of managing multiple large-scale modernization projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, compliance requirements, and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Manage, oversee, and coordinate all aspects of pre‑construction, project development, bidding/award, and close‑out for assigned projects
- Collaborate with designers and stakeholders to ensure adherence to the approved project scope
- Prepare detailed progress reports for senior management
- Coordinate with public agencies, utilities, and regulatory entities to meet federal and state compliance requirements
- Monitor project budgets monthly and ensure accurate financial tracking
- Resolve complex planning, design, and construction-related issues and conflicts
- Review project status to ensure planning, design, and construction activities remain within approved definitions
- Assist teams with bid preparation, contract development, and procurement planning
- Implement project/program policy guidelines and recommend improvements
- Evaluate new strategies and developments impacting program outcomes
- Work with technical teams to estimate construction and alteration project costs
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Minimum 10 years of full-time professional experience managing public-sector, educational, or commercial construction projects
- Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
- Experience with modernization projects is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- A Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential may be substituted for required education
- Candidates without the required degree may substitute professional experience on a year‑for‑year basis, if they demonstrate extensive proficiency in all listed duties
