The Vice President for Advancement will report to, and work directly with, the University President to support institutional development, while coordinating additional activities with members of the senior management team.

This position is both outward and inward‑facing, and the role affords an entrepreneurial thinker the opportunity to drive transformational growth in fundraising, building and managing global development operations with which to support that effort.

The Vice President for Advancement will be an expert, innovative, visionary, and collaborative leader with outstanding management and communication skills who can motivate a team, inspire, and excel within a highly distributed organization. The Vice President for Advancement will understand the complexity of fundraising and leading teams working across multiple geographies and cultures and must possess the cultural awareness necessary to work with global staff, donors, committees, and board members.

UoPeople has over 170,000 students enrolled from more than 200 countries and territories, including 17,000 students who are refugees, and 17,500 internally displaced persons. UoPeople was founded in 2009 and accredited in 2014. We believe that higher education is a basic human right and that it can transform not only the lives of students, but also their families' lives, their communities, their nations, and, by extension, the world.

UoPeople is an innovative university, and we welcome team members who bring creativity and innovation to their roles. We're a fast‑paced organization with remote teams all around the globe.

UoPeople provides a unique and essential opportunity for qualified high school graduates to overcome financial, geographic, political, and personal barriers to attaining higher education. Our tuition‑free model offers students an affordable solution to earn a quality degree with minimal fees, which are waived if a student cannot afford them. Specifically designed for real‑world applicability to in‑demand careers, the University offers accredited associate and bachelor's degree programs in Business Administration, Computer Science, and Health Science, as well as master's degree programs in Business Administration, Information Technology, and Education.

Our students are an incredible mix of passionate, dedicated individuals from around the world. Most are working adults, many of whom are also raising families while they study. Thousands of students have graduated from UoPeople and are using what they've learned to lead promising careers. We're proud of our graduates and being able to prepare them for real world success.

At least 8 years of experience in fundraising is required, with at least four years of experience in a senior development leadership role. University of the People will consider candidates with a broad range of backgrounds. If you are excited about this role and feel that you can contribute to UoPeople, but your experience does not exactly align with every qualification listed above, we encourage you to apply.

All applications must be accompanied by a cover letter and resume. Cover letters should be responsive to how your experience, competencies, and interest in access to education for all aligns with UoPeople's mission and values and the responsibilities and competencies presented in the position prospectus.

The base compensation target for this position is $200,000, plus benefits. Our potential for growth in fundraising revenue is substantial; a leader capable of driving transformational growth will have opportunity to grow with the organization in scale of management responsibility and in compensation.
