Senior Grant and Fund Manager

The Senior Grant and Fund Manager provides advanced research administration support within the Department of Radiological Sciences, overseeing complex extramural funding portfolios and ensuring seamless, compliant management of all contract and grant activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides comprehensive pre‑ and post‑award support to Principal Investigators for extramurally funded research projects.
  • Manages complex, multi‑million‑dollar portfolios including federal, state, private, and industry‑sponsored awards.
  • Leads the preparation, review, and submission of grant proposals in accordance with UC and sponsor policies.
  • Oversees award administration, including budget development, financial monitoring, projections, and reconciliation.
  • Ensures compliance with UC, federal, state, and sponsor regulations, policies, and reporting requirements.
  • Serves as a primary resource to faculty and staff on grant administration, funding strategy, and policy interpretation.
  • Maintains high‑quality service, accuracy, and timeliness across all contract and grant activities.

Salary: $5,908.33 - $12,100 monthly

Qualifications Required
  • 4-5 years of knowledge of contract and grant administration guidelines and various funding agency online proposal submission systems.
  • 4-5 years of demonstrative skill in financial analysis, planning, preparation and administration for a budget with multiple complex funding sources.
  • 4-5 years of keen knowledge of cost accounting standards, the guiding OMB circulars for institutions of higher education, NIH Grants Policy, and federal regulation 45

    CFR
    46 on the protections of human subjects participating in research. Ability to work efficiently and complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience interpreting and applying various funding agencies' technical requirements and procedures in laboratory situations.
  • Write precise, well organized, and grammatically correct documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to audit expenditures and assure that they conform to policies and guidelines.
  • Skill in performing complex accounting transactions.
  • Skills in utilizing a PC to prepare work using Excel and Microsoft Word.
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of University administrative units and their services, role and responsibilities and ability to contact them appropriately to obtain needed information.
  • Working knowledge of University forms, policies and procedures in areas of contracts and grants, accounting, purchasing, personnel and payroll.
